Upcoming Public Artwork: Splash @ Hochschule Weihenstephan in Freising

Upcoming Public Artwork

Over the last year, I have been working on a permanent sculpture commission for the Hochschule für Brau- und Getränketechnologie Weihenstephan in Freising (Bavaria). The work will be inaugurated in early 2026 and will remain permanently on view in the university’s beer garden.

More about it: Splash captures a fleeting moment: the lively momentum of a spilled drink. What is a mishap in everyday life becomes an aesthetic homage to the craft of brewing—dynamic, playful, technological. Made of polished stainless steel, the sculpture reflects its surroundings and symbolizes movement and fluidity, further creating a material connection to the laboratory equipment inside the building. Augmented reality brings Splash to life digitally: flowing 3D animations meander beyond the object into the sky and invite exploration – an immersive experience between art, technology, and brewing culture.
